#1273 – Unknown collation: ‘utf8mb4_unicode_520_ci’ [ SOLVED ]
Its one of the frequent issues found in MySQL data migration from one server to anther or one version of WAMP to another in local environment. To solve this issue please check the steps below:
- 1. Open File: First of all open your MySQL .sql file in your favorite text editor.
- 2. Search:
utf8_general_ci(Replace All) ( Hint : Ctrl + H in sublime Text)
- 3. Search:
- 4. Import: Save the file and re upload via PHPMyadmin dashboard it will work fine.
It is also found that MySQL 5.6 version support the
utf8mb4_unicode_520_ci, but the older version doesn’t . So its good idea to either update the MySQL version to the latest on or alternatively you can do the Search and Replace to
utf8mb4_unicode_ci . Save the .sql and and import the updated MySQL file.
